Beaches in Prince Edward County

Some of the largest freshwater sand dunes in the world, plus warm, shallow, swimmable water — most within 20 minutes of the house.

The County's beaches are the reason a lot of people first come. Sandbanks Provincial Park has some of the world's largest freshwater sand dunes and warm, shallow water at Outlet and Dunes beaches — ideal for families. On summer weekends it fills early, so arrive before 10am or pre-book a day-use pass through Ontario Parks.

For something quieter, North Beach on the bay side is calm and shallow, and there are smaller swimming and paddling spots tucked around West Lake and the south shore. Below are the beaches and swimming spots worth the drive.
